Kitchen Dog Theater Announces Full Lineup for 2012 New Works Festival  

May 25 – June 23, 2012

Dallas – Kitchen Dog Theater, in association with the National New Play Network (NNPN), is thrilled to announce the official lineup for the fourteenth anniversary of its New Works Festival. This year’s fully produced mainstage production is the World Premiere of RUTH by KDT Artistic Company Member Vicki Caroline Cheatwood. Developed by KDT over the course of 3 years- from initial idea to readings to production, RUTH is a powerful contemporary reimagining of the Hebrew/Old Testament story of Ruth and Naomi, focusing on the hot button issue of immigration.

KDT Artistic Company Member Tim Johnson directs a great cast, featuring fellow KDT Company Members Liza Marie Gonzalez and Barry Nash alongside local luminaries Andrews W. Cope, Gail Cronauer, Lisa Hassler, Clay Wheeler  and Clay Yocum.

Mary Tomás Studio Gallery one of 12 venues showcasing Dallas glass artists in conjunction with Arboretum’s Chihuly Show.  Mary Tomás Studio Gallery is one of a dozen Dallas-area venues showcasing local glass artists in conjunction with the “Chihuly at the Dallas Arboretum” exhibit that runs through November 5, 2012. Entitled “Glass 2012” and presented in three parts, Dallas venues such as Mary Tomás Studio Gallery are celebrating the wide diversity of glass making and expressions in glass that are being created in the North Texas area.

A career in theater requires all sorts of multitasking entrepreneurial skills and talents.  TeCo’s summer enrichment program provides an array of fun-filled activities that help prepare youngsters for a sustaining career in the arts.


Beginning June 4 – July 26, 2012, TeCo Theatrical Productions, Inc. will offer an eight week summer theater camp at our newly renovated, ecologically friendly facility, the Bishop Arts Theatre Center.  Students will not  only learn how to perform on stage but will also learn the business side of the industry:

  • how to prepare a professional headshot and resume,
  • selecting the right monologue, and
  • how to audition

Other camp activities will include:

-Only 50 applications will be accepted on a first-come, first serve basis
-Camp is open to children ages 6 to 12 years old.
-Tuition is $75 per week and must be paid in full by May 31
-A $50 application fee is required to reserve a place in this fun-packed, high energy, enrichment program.
-Camp hours are from 7AM to 5PM, Monday through Thursday and culminates with a production by camp participants on July 27, & 28, 2012.
