The 11th Annual 24 Hour Video Race Starts Tonight at the Angelika in Dallas!!!

The 2012 24-Hour Video Race (our 11th annual event) will begin at the Dallas Angelika Film Center (Mockingbird Station) on Friday, May 4th 2012 at 11:59pm with a theme, prop, location and line of dialogue assignment for the film. The race concludes 24 hours later with a sprint to the finish line back at the Angelika. All of the films that make it by the midnight deadline will be screened and compete for awards & bragging rights.

Good news everyone. Film composer, Joby Talbot will be the guest of honor at the Dallas Opera’s ongoing series, Composing Conversations. This event will be FREE and is open to anyone. Joby Talbot is perhaps best known for creating the score and music for the 2005 film, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The League of Gentleman, and Son of Rambow. Record Breaking Turnout for The Dallas Opera’s Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’ Simulcast at Cowboys Stadium!

A big congratulations is in order for The Dallas Opera for breaking records with their Simulcast performance of Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’. The opera performance was shown on the giant screen at Cowboys Stadium where over 15,000 people showed up to enjoy the opera.
Official Press Release: The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium, drew an estimated fifteen thousand patrons to the Dallas Opera’s one-night-only April 28th Dallas Opera Cowboys Stadium Simulcast, presented by The Dallas Foundation, making it the best-attended opera stadium simulcast in Texas history. More than 34,000 ticket requests came in from throughout Texas and 26 additional states, Canada, and the District of Columbia.

This year promises to be the best yet with its top chefs from around the country serving their signature dishes to the world famous wine cork pull. Official Press Release: TACA Lexus Party on the Green is a fun casual evening, outdoors on the grounds of The Mansion featuring 20 celebrity chefs from Rosewood restaurants and resorts around the world, and fan favorites from Dallas, serving their signature dishes. The event will feature a silent auction, a wine cork pull, live entertainment and fireworks. This year’s chairmen are long-time community volunteers Kristi and Ron Hoyl and Lisa and Bill Ogle.
